Privacy Policy for QRky

QRky (“we”, “us”, the “app”) is a QR code and barcode generator and scanner. This policy explains what data the app handles and your choices. We designed QRky to keep your content on your device — we do not run accounts and we do not collect the contents of the codes you create or scan.

1. Data that stays on your device

The following never leaves your device and is never sent to us or to any third party:

• The content of QR codes and barcodes you generate or scan (links, Wi-Fi details, contacts, text, etc.).
• Your history of generated and scanned codes, stored locally on your device.
• Generated images you save, which go to your own Photos library.
• Camera input, which is processed on-device to detect codes and is not recorded or transmitted.

2. Analytics (anonymous)

To understand how the app is used and improve it, we collect anonymous usage analytics through PostHog. This includes events such as which features are used (e.g. a code was generated or scanned, the code category, screen views), plus basic technical information such as app version, device model, and OS version.

• We do not attach your name, email, account, or any personal identity — analytics are anonymous.
• We do not include the contents of your codes in analytics.
• Analytics data is processed on EU-based servers.
• You can turn analytics off at any time in Settings → Analytics inside the app.

3. Advertising

QRky is free and supported by ads served through Google AdMob. To show ads, Google’s SDK may collect device identifiers (including the advertising identifier, IDFA, when you allow tracking), ad interaction data, approximate (coarse) location derived from IP address, and diagnostic information. This data may be used for personalised advertising, measurement, and fraud prevention.

• In the European Economic Area / UK, we present a Google consent message (UMP) before serving personalised ads.
• On iOS, we ask for your permission via Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt (see section 4).

4. App Tracking Transparency

When you first use the app, iOS asks whether you allow QRky to track your activity across other companies’ apps and websites. If you allow, ads may be personalised using your advertising identifier. If you decline, you’ll still see ads, but they will not be personalised using that identifier. You can change this any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

5. Device permissions

• Camera — to scan QR codes and barcodes. Used on-device only.
• Photo Library — to scan a code from an image and to save generated codes. Used on-device only.

6. Your rights and choices

• Opt out of analytics: Settings → Analytics in the app.
• Manage ad tracking: iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
• Delete your data: your history lives only on your device — deleting an item, or deleting the app, removes it.
• Depending on your region (e.g. GDPR), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. Contact us using the details below.

7. Children

QRky is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
